Overall, the organizational support by the World Bank, computer scientist Dr, Sugata Mitra, and the IFC have contributed to the improved well-being in underdeveloped countries.

Both poverty and illiteracy continue to be major issues today that remain unresolved. Therefore, it is about time that people step up and take action in assisting to close the digital gap. Whenever new technology is implemented, the lower income countries should have the right to learn about them and access them as well. Leaving them out will only prevent them from advancing.

Computers can have a positive effect of bringing prosperity to the poorest countries

Access to computers and technology can also open doors of opportunity for those who are unfortunate, especially knowing that anything is possible with the internet. People could also easily obtain and create jobs which would automatically bring their country out of poverty.

Consequences: Even though providing rural countries access to technology can be beneficial, it could bee harmful as well. Providing inappropriate access, such as: video games  can cause children to focus less on their school work. Therefore, it is important to focus on providing people in rural areas educational and useful access to technology.
